Many Fire Cars Were Damaged, Mukomuko Regency Government Efforts To Improve Because They Did Not Have A Budget To Buy A New One

MUKOMUKO - Mukomuko Regency Government, Bengkulu, seeks revitalization or total improvement of all fire engines so that they can function properly in providing services to the community. "We ask the Fire Department to propose an allocation of the budget for revitalization of fire engines to function properly. To buy new ones, we have limited budget for that," said Mukomuko Regent Sapuan in Mukomuko, quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 10. Most of the fire engines in this area are not functioning properly and some are damaged. Seven fire engines in this area, five of which were not functioning properly and two fire engines were damaged. Mukomuko Regent said that in addition to revitalizing fire engines, it also budgeted funds for the purchase of Indonesian National Standards cables for the poor in this area. According to him, based on his monitoring so far, the building of a resident's house that caught fire was due to an electric short circuit sourced from non-standard power lines. For this reason, he said, related agencies need to provide socialization and education to the public so that they understand the cause of the house fire because the use of cables is not standard. He also emphasized that it should involve stakeholders, including the sub-district head and village head, in providing socialization and awareness to the public regarding the causes of the many house fires in the area. Furthermore, he asked the Fire Extinguishing Service not to delay socialization activities and provide education about the dangers of fires to the community.

Regarding the addition of fire engines, he hopes that new cars can strengthen the fire fighting fleet in the area. The old fire engines, he said, must be revitalized to be ready to operate at any time. He also asked the Fire Department to make careful planning.
