Cak Imin's Issue Appears Criminalized Because He Was Summoned In A Corruption Case, KPK: Don't Understand The Legal Process!

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the parties who spread the issue of Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin were criminalized because they were summoned in the corruption case of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) procurement project did not understand the legal process.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said the summons had been scheduled since August 31. This means that the sending of the letter was carried out even before he was announced as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Anies Baswedan on Saturday, September 2.

"He doesn't understand the legal process, it seems. The narrative seems to be called one day after the declaration is a false argument," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, September 6.

Ali ensured that the summons had also been prepared according to the needs of investigators in this case. "So don't mix the political affairs," he said.

"Just follow the legal process. It would be much wiser if we all support efforts to eradicate corruption, which the KPK is currently solving, not to solve such counterproductive narratives," Ali continued.

Previously, the anti-corruption commission would ask for information from Cak Imin because he had served as Minister of Manpower for the 2009-2014 period in the era of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's leadership. However, the General Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) could not attend because he had to visit the scheduled event.

This reason made Cak Imin ask the KPK to postpone the examination. In the future, he ensures that he will be present to fulfill the investigator's summons and is ready to explain whatever he knows.

"I have to respect and fully support all KPK measures. I am committed, that's why I was asked to come by the KPK several times, I came and I explained everything," he said.

In the case of corruption in the TKI protection system, the KPK said that three suspects had been named. Although not yet announced, the Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta is reportedly involved.

The value of the information system procurement project that is suspected to be the result of the perpetrators reached around Rp. 20 billion. Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata said that this system was allegedly corrupted until it could not be used to monitor migrant workers.
