Sukabumi Disdik Corruption Persons Rp716 Million Education Assistance For Poor Students

SUKABUMI - The Sukabumi City District Attorney (Kejari) has named two suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) assistance for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. It is suspected that education assistance for students from the corrupted poor families reached around Rp. 716,729,750. The suspect in the case had the initials DS and KH, who were previously honorary staff as the Principal Education Data operator (Dapodik) one of the schools under the auspices of the Sukabumi City Education Office (Disdik). "The two suspects were detained after investigators pocketed sufficient evidence and raised the status of the two of the witnesses to be suspects in the case of alleged misuse of PIP funds, proposals for stakeholders, 2019-2020 fiscal year," said the Head of the Sukabumi City Prosecutor's Office, Setiyowati, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 4. Setiyowati explained, PIP was intended to assist the access and education costs of students aged 6 years-21 years from poor or vulnerable families, in order to be able to undergo education up to secondary education units. The two suspects, he said, had a role in data on students who received PIP assistance. Based on the results of the investigation, according to Setiyowati, there were thousands of students from 25 elementary and junior high school-level schools in Sukabumi City who were supposed to receive PIP funds. However, he said, the two suspects allegedly cut the PIP assistance by around 35 percent. The total assistance is Rp 1.297,950,000 and the cut received by the suspect is Rp. 716,729,750,'' said Setiyowati. Head of the Special Crime Section (Pidsus) of Sukabumi City, M Taufik Akbar explained, the assistance of PIP was divided into a number of categories. For SD equivalent level or Class A class I to class V, the assistance was Rp. 450 thousand in the even semester and odd semester. For the VI class the work was Rp 225 thousand, both in the even and odd semesters.

Then for the equivalent SMP level or Package B class VII and VIII, the assistance was Rp. 750 thousand in the even and odd semesters. As for class IX, the assistance was Rp. 375 thousand in the even semester and odd semester. Disdik Sukabumi admitted that he was missed by the alleged corruption of PIP funds.
