PALANGKARAYA - Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya (UMPR), Central Kalimantan, has begun implementing a policy that students can graduate from college without compiling a thesis or thesis. "The obligation for students so far must write down research results in the form of thesis to become a scholar to be replaced with writing in the standard journal publication article format with a maximum writing of 12 pages," said UMPR Chancellor Dr Muhammad Yusuf in Palangkaraya, Antara, Thursday, August 31. The policy of presenting research results in the format of journal publication articles, adjusts to demands that student scientific works be widely accessed by the public, even on an international scale. The policy that has been implemented at UMPR is to bring students on global scientific adventures that can be carried out practically and substantially. However, this policy does not eliminate fundamental things from student research methods and stages, such as having to go to the field to capture phenomena that become problems, observations, data collections, interviews and so on. Deputy Chancellor I of UPR Dr Chandra Anugrah Putra added that the results of the research were presented in the standard article format for journal publication to international representation. Students also continue to make observations in order to find phenomena, both general and problematic in research, the guidance of lecturers is still there because the research process continues. For this reason, students continue to undergo research, get supervisors and the presentation process related to the presentation of the final task (final assignment presentation) will still be carried out. So that the flow or final task mechanism can be accounted for by universities with field evidence in the form of photos or videos. In addition, it can also be in the form of research evidence in the form of qualitative or interviews, statistics, analysis tests, research hypothesis tests, and other supports will also be provided specifically through the prepared storage media.

"This is to maintain the quality and credibility of the research carried out. The point is, the difference is the final packaging. In this case, a thesis has been made in the form of scientific articles that are ready to be published in a journal," said the second Prospective Professor at the UMPR. His party also continues to improve the quality of the lecturers in order to implement a student's policy of graduating without drafting a thesis.
