Speech Through Video On PAN's 25th Anniversary, Jokowi Talks About Cooperation

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was not present at the 25th Anniversary of the National Mandate Party (PAN). However, Jokowi delivered a speech via video shown in the event room.

In his speech, Jokowi talked about the importance of cooperation in the midst of the world's heated economic, rivalry and geopolitical crisis.

From the challenges of this problem, Jokowi views that there is always hope to fight and survive, depending on how to react.

"To face the challenges that exist, it is necessary to prepare the best team, who have the same vision, who have the same dreams, and are able to work together," Jokowi said in a video shown at the PAN 25th Anniversary event at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

Jokowi views that each party cannot work alone and a strong and solid team is needed in facing global challenges and realizing the nation's wishes.

"Indeed, we cannot work alone, we need a strong and solid team to realize our dreams and ideals. I believe PAN is able. Happy 25th PAN anniversary," he explained.

A number of general chairmen (ketum) of political parties in the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) attended the PAN 25th Anniversary event which was held tonight.

Ketum Partai Gerindra Prabowo Subianto, Ketum Partai Golkar Airlangga Hartarto, Ketum PBB Yusril Ihza Mahendra. Together with the chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan, the three of them sat in the front row.

About thirty minutes after the event opened, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) had just arrived at the location. Seeing his arrival, Prabowo immediately embraced and hugged Cak Imin before occupying a seat in the ranks of the party supporting Prabowo as a presidential candidate. Zulhas, Airlangga, and Yusril also participated in this gathering.

The party's DPP administrators who are members of the KKIR are also present at the commemoration of the establishment of PAN. Not only that, a number of government ministers of President Joko Widodo were also present, namely SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Menpora Dito Aritedjo.

Erick and Muhadjir sit on a separate side with a row of party general chairmen. Later, both of them were proposed by PAN to become candidates for vice president to accompany Prabowo Subianto.
