Golkar Welcomes Gelora Party's Plan To Declare Support Prabowo

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto welcomed the Gelora Party's plan to declare support for Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"It's okay. It's just good. The more (supporting), the better," said Airlangga at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

According to Airlangga, the more support provided, the more political power will be added.

"Anyway, the more the better," said Airlangga.

It was previously reported that the Gelora Party stated that it would declare support for Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) in Jakarta, Saturday (2/9).

According to Gelora Secretary General Mahfuz Sidik, the declaration will be attended by Prabowo Subianto, who is the General Chair of the Gerindra Party.

Golkar itself is one of four parties that have expressed their support for Prabowo Subianto along with the National Awakening Party, Gerindra, and the National Mandate Party.

Airlangga said that in the near future there will be communication between four parties supporting Prabowo.

"In the near future, there will be (communication). Tonight there will be a PAN anniversary event. Yes, maybe the coalition will attend," explained Airlangga.
