JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Asasi Yasonna H. Laoly said that his party provided special treatment for immigration facilities for exil victims of past gross human rights violations abroad to restore victims' rights through non-judicial settlement.
He said his party had issued a Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No. M.HH-05.GR.01.01 of 2023 concerning Immigration Services for Victims of Serious Human Rights Violations on August 11, 2023.
"We want to provide special treatment, I issue a Ministerial Decree specifically, for this for our former MAHID (official bond students) brothers and sisters, ministerial decisions a few months ago, and provide immigration facilities and conveniences to the friends of the mothers of victims of gross human rights violations who are abroad," Yasonna said at an online press conference meeting with the excavators in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, monitored virtually in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, August 27.
Yasonna explained that her party provided immigration facilities in the form of Multiple Entry Visa or Visit Visa Several Traveling Times (VKBP) for five years at a free non-tax state revenue rate (PNBP).
“ Without 'Golden Visa', without 'Second Home Visa', we provide 'Multiple Visa Five Years' to ladies with zero PNBP, meaning free,” he said.
He said Visa Visits Several Times The trip can later be increased to a temporary residence permit (Itas). “ If it's time to go there, we want to ask for Itas that we can give temporary residence permits with PNBP zero, free,” he said.
"The laws and regulations that accommodate the dual citizenship are currently still a long debate in parliament because discussions must be carried out jointly between the government and the Indonesian House of Representatives," he said.
Yasonna said that the special treatment of immigration facilities for exil victims of past gross human rights violations abroad was one of the efforts to restore the victim's rights by means of a wound healing approach.
" “ So it's a 'gecture' from the government ‘we are serious ’ sir, we mean trying us again to repair old wounds due to policies that the Indonesian Government (previously) has done," he said.
Yasonna then symbolically handed over the re-entry permit visa to a former MAHID named Sri Budiarti. On that occasion there were 59 excavators from the Netherlands, six from Germany, as well as a number of excitations from other European countries that were present virtually.
To obtain the immigration facility, the former MAHID must submit an application to the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) where he lives. Furthermore, the Indonesian Embassy will process it by forwarding the request to the central government.
The visa application for the former MAHID was granted by the Minister of Law and Human Rights or the appointed Immigration official, after receiving a recommendation from the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.
During the meeting, Yasonna and his staff were present accompanied by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD and his staff, the Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mayerfas, representatives of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK), and other Non-Judicial Settlement Team for Violations of Past Heavy Human Rights (PPHAM).
