Ferdy Sambo Cs Enters Salemba Prison, Kalapas Explains No Security Improvement

JAKARTA - The Class IIA Salemba Penitentiary received the transfer of Ferdy Sambo, Ricky Rizal and Strong Ma'ruf prisoners from the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office on Thursday, August 24.

After receiving the arrival of the three inmates, the Salemba Prison officers also checked the administrative receipts in the form of files and health of the inmates.

After arriving at the Salemba Prison, the three inmates were placed in the Mapenaling (environmental introduction period) room. Acceptance is carried out according to the applicable SOP.

Head of the Class IIA Salemba Correctional Institution (Kalapas), Yosafat Rizanto, said that there was no increase in security related to the convict Ferdy Sambo in Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta.

"There is Ferdy Sambo in the Salemba Prison, there is no increase in the security of officers," said Head of Salemba Prison, Soliz Rizanto when contacted by reporters, Friday, August 25.

Rizanto said Ferdy Sambo came on Thursday afternoon before Maghrib and there was no strict escort. Currently, Ferdy Sambo has mingled with the other prisoners.

"We don't differentiate between other prisoners, they are all the same," he said.

Yosafat said that apart from Ferdy Sambo, the convicts Ricky Rizal (RR) and Strong Ma'ruf were also in the Salemba Prison. Before entering the Salemba Prison, the three of them were examined by recipients, including checking files and health checks.

"They are placed in the Mapenaling room (environmental introduction period), receipts are carried out according to the applicable SOP," he said.

There are five convicts in this case the murder of Brigadier Joshua, namely Ferdy Sambo, Putri Chandrawati, Ricky Rizal, Strong Ma'ruf, and Bharada Richard Totaling Pudihang Lumiu alias Bharada E.

Bharada E has been on condition leave from the Salemba Rutan prison since August 4, 2023 for receiving a conditional free program.

Meanwhile, the sentence of four other convicts was circumcised by the Supreme Court. Ferdy Sambo, who was previously sentenced to death, received an improvement in qualifying for a criminal act to life imprisonment.

Meanwhile, Putri Candrawathi, who was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison, was circumcised to 10 years in prison. Strong Ma'ruf, Ferdy Sambo's former household assistant also received leniency from the Supreme Court to 10 years, who was previously 15 years in prison.

Finally, Ferdy Sambo's former aide, Ricky Rizal, was sentenced to 8 years, from who was previously sentenced to 13 years in prison in the premeditated murder case of Brigadier Joshua by the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel).
