The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent four people from leaving the country in the corruption case of the construction of the Kingmi Mile 32 Church, Mimika, Papua.

This prevention is the development of the case that ensnared the inactive Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng.

"The consideration (of prevention, ed) is in order to expedite the process of investigating and resolving cases of alleged corruption related to the development of the Kingmi Mile Church construction case for 32 stages 1 of 2015," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Wednesday, August 23.

Ali said prevention was carried out for the next 6 months or July. The four people who were prevented were not detailed but they were three private parties and one state civil servant (ASN).

The four people who were prevented are expected to cooperate in fulfilling the investigator's summons. They will soon be scheduled to undergo an examination.

"The cooperative attitude of the parties in question is highly expected and can always be present if the summons is scheduled," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has also prevented Eltinus Omaleng from developing this case. He will not go abroad until January 2024.

This prevention is related to the development of corruption cases in the construction of churches. At least a number of parties have been named as suspects.

However, the anti-corruption commission has not detailed the suspects. This is because investigations and searches for evidence are still being carried out.
