DPRD Reveals There Are Persons Burning Garbage In DKI Provincial Government Land

JAKARTA - Member of Commission D of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Justin Adrian Untayana revealed that there were unscrupulous perpetrators of burning household waste on land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Meanwhile, Article 126 Paragraph e of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regulation Number 3 of 2013 concerning Waste Management states that everyone is prohibited from burning garbage that pollutes the environment.

Based on the report that Justin received, residents who do not want to pay the cost of transporting garbage can pay to these individuals so that their waste is burned on land owned by the DKI Provincial Government.

"That's where the DKI Provincial Government's land is burned with garbage. My monitoring already has a retribution for those who don't want to pay for garbage to be transported, they just pay for the garbage to be transported by garbage burners. This has become a business area as well," Justin said at a Commission D meeting at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Tuesday, August 22.

Justin admitted that he was surprised why the practice of burning garbage could occur and even be carried out on government land. He considered that there was neglect by the DKI Environmental Agency (LH) regarding this matter.

"If there is no decisive and continuous action, I think whether there has been cooperation with LH as well as for the waste burning business? Sorry, don't blame me if there is no firm action, I think LH has also collaborated with waste burners," said Justin.

Responding to this, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency admitted that he had received a report about the burning of garbage on land owned by the DKI Provincial Government.

"About the burning of garbage on the local government's land. I also received the report yesterday, sir, justin. That it is on the local government's land that there is indeed a burning of garbage," said Asep.

However, Asep claimed that his party had followed up on the case and imposed sanctions on other individual service providers (PJLP) of the DKI LH Service who carried out the arson.

"We have met the officers there and for the way of taking action we apply sanctions to the PJLP there who are still burning garbage," he added.
