TANGERANG - Police thwarted the circulation of methamphetamine to ecstasy from Belgium, which amounted to Rp. 10 billion with 15 suspects.

"Successfully securing or securing evidence of methamphetamine along with ecstasy and marijuana for methamphetamine is approximately 25 kg," said South Tangerang Police Chief, AKBP Faisal Febrianto to reporters, Wednesday, August 16.

"For ecstasy, there are approximately 4 thousand pills, and for marijuana 3 kg. For synthetic marijuana approximately 2 kg. If converted to 10 billion," he continued.

The Head of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, AKP Retno Jordanus, explained that this disclosure was the result of the development of the case of the arrest of one person who was secured in Serpong Tangerang with evidence of 1.6 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

Officers said the suspects were the Bengkalis, Malaysia to Belgium-Amsterdam network.

"The role, some are couriers, controllers. There are even ship providers. This is in Bengkalis to go to Malaysia," explained Jordanus.

Jordan conveyed that the modus operandi of the perpetrators was to smuggle the illicit goods through the rat port.

"The entry of the rat port, using a klotok boat," he said. Perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions. They were charged with Article 114 Paragraph 2, Article 112 Paragraph 2, and or Article 111 Paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 concerning Narcotics. "The threat of imprisonment is a maximum of life," said Jordanus.
