Police Have Identified the Perpetrators of Persecution and Damage to the Kramomongga District Office

JAKARTA - The head of the Kramomongga District, Darson Hegemur, Fakfak Regency, West Papua, was found tragically dead with severe injuries all over his body. Not only that, the Kramomongga District Office was also burnt down by a group of unknown people at 24.00 WIT.

A community leader in the Kramomongga district, Nasser Pagessa, said that when the incident occurred, district residents were in downtown Fakfak celebrating the red and white carnival to welcome Indonesia's 78th anniversary of independence (HUT).

"The head of the Kramomongga district, whose name is Darson Hegemur, came from the city center with his staff to the district office carrying logistics for the preparation of the flag ceremony. He was allegedly beaten up by 25 people, but the police said that there were 5 people who killed Mr. Darson," said Nasser Pagessa when contacted by VOI by telephone, on 16 August.

According to Nasser, the allegation of an attack by an armed criminal group (KKB) was not true. Nasser said the suspected motive for the killing was due to misappropriation of village funds.

"Not because of the KKB, but because of allegations of misappropriation of village funds by the victim's family. The body is currently still in the funeral home on Cendrawasih Street Puncak, Fakfak Regency. Currently, it has not been buried because some of the bodies were sewn together to be reassembled before being buried," said Nasser Pagessa.

Aslan Bukhori, chairman of the Pancasila Youth organization in Fak-fak Regency, emphasized that the murder that was experienced by Darson was purely a family conflict due to the embezzlement of village funds.

"It's not true that it's because of the KKB, I can confirm that based on information from Korem and Fakfak Police intelligence partners, the bloody incident last night was purely the result of family conflict. The reason was that Darson reported a large misuse of village funds to the Fakfak Police," said the Leader of Pancasila Youth, Aslan Bukhori.

Meanwhile, when contacted by the Fakfak City Police Chief, AKBP Hendriyana, emphasized that his party had pocketed the identities of the perpetrators of the destruction of the district office in Kramomongga.

"We have identified the perpetrators who carried out the arson and destruction at the district office. Hopefully, we will inform our journalist colleagues in the near future," he said.
