DELI SERDANG - Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi said the construction of the Medan Hajj General Hospital (RSU) tower is a priority to improve health services in the province of the thousands of Medan cities.

"This is one of the priorities of the North Sumatra Provincial Government for the health of the people," said Edy Rahmayadi, during the inauguration of the first tower of the Medan Hajj Hospital as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15.

Governor Edy said he would target the five towers to be built, so that the Medan Hajj Hospital would really be the choice of the people of North Sumatra for treatment, rather than going abroad.

"The first tower with 174 beds, currently the progress of development has reached around 90 percent. Three floors have been used or operational. It is targeted that by November 2023, this tower one has been completed 100 percent," said Edy Rahmayadi.

Governor Edy said that the Medan Hajj Hospital belongs to the public and all the people of North Sumatra. Therefore, it can be used by everyone, indiscriminately.

"This Hajj hospital doesn't see what its ethnicity is, what religion it is, what we see as sick, and this makes a program that we have to complete, I will prioritize this," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Funding for Development of Bappenas Scuserin Hasudungan Siahaan said the tower was realized because of the leadership of the Governor and the innovations he gave.

"Compared to other provinces, North Sumatra has become a leading in basic health services that will already operate," said Scenaider.

SCEnaider said the construction of the second tower would be supported through loans from the South Korean government and it is hoped that next year construction will begin.

"The Medan Hajj Hospital is expected to advance to class in its service standards, so we will equalize the level of international service, thus the people of North Sumatra, who have come all this way to get health services, can now get better services here," said Scenaider.
