Legitimate, Golkar-PAN Officially Supports Prabowo Subianto 2024 Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party and the National Mandate Party (PAN) officially declared their support for Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election. This was conveyed by Golkar Ketum Airlangga Hartarto and PAN chairman Zulkifli Hasan in a declaration of support attended by Prabowo and PKB Ketum Muhaimin Iskandar. "On this Sunday is a historic moment because four parties will carry Mr. Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in 2024-2029," said Airlangga at the Proclamation Script Museum, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 13. Airlangga explained his reasons for supporting Prabowo as a presidential candidate because the Minister of Defense was once a Golkar cadre, before the Gerindra Party was founded. "Why did the Golkar Party bring down the choice to Mr. Prabowo Subianto? Not other than because Mr. Lieutenant General, Mr. Prabowo Subianto was born from the womb of the Golkar Party," said Airlangga. Then, Airlangga also views Prabowo's performance in leading Indonesia if he was elected as President there is no need to doubt, in taking advantage of the momentum of the demographic bonus to achieve the status of developed countries. "Therefore, the leadership of 10 years in the future is very important and the Golkar Party sees the leadership of Mr. Prabowo Subianto very appropriate to bring Indonesia through the middle income trap," said Airlangga. Meanwhile, PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) admitted that he finally supported Prabowo as a presidential candidate because these two parties had been in coalition since Prabowo ran as a presidential candidate in 2014 and 2019. Zulhas wants to continue the coalition, although in the last 10 years Prabowo has not been elected as President of the Republic of the Republic of Indonesia. "Through careful considerations, the Central Leadership Council of the National Mandate Party has decided to provide support for the presidential candidate for 2024-2029 to Lieutenant General Prabowo Subianto," said Zulhas.

"Why did PAN make that decision? We have 10 years together with Pak Prabowo. If you stay a little, why can't you wait? We believe the 10-year struggle will be completed," he added. After the declaration, Airlangga, Zulhas, and Muhaimin signed the awarding of support for the 2024 election presidential election to Prabowo.
