Andika Perkasa Encourages Student Spirit At The University Of Indonesia Campus

JAKARTA - Opportunities and challenges in the future will be increasingly difficult, therefore in front of University of Indonesia (UI) students, General (Ret.) Andika Perkasa provides encouragement to adapt. You do this by diligently choosing and optimizing the available information.

"The future of Indonesia is in the hands of young people. They are equipped with so much information in the era of technology disruption," Andika Perkasa said in a National Public Lecture at the UI Salemba Campus, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 8.

The struggle that must be fought by current students is different from the former fighters who took up arms to defend Indonesia's independence. At that time the fighters sacrificed their wealth, soul and body to expel the invaders.

Now students are struggling to fill independence by learning diligently. The independence of the Indonesian nation which is now enjoyed is not a gift let alone a gift, but is captured by struggle and sacrifice of blood and even the lives of the fighters," he said.

The man who last served as the former TNI commander encouraged UI students to be serious about preparing himself with sufficient intellectual provisions before going to jump into the community.

Andika Perkasa believes that the overflow of information in the era of information disruption and rapid technological developments is an advantage if it is used positively. He also invited public lecturers to listen to the video profile of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Alphabet CEO Pichai Sundararajan.

According to him, the two figures inspire young people to be persistent in pursuing their goals despite having many limitations. "Be young people who are open-minded, be impressive, don't be afraid to try and don't be afraid to fail," said Andika, whose name is included in the 2024 vice presidential candidate exchange, who will accompany Ganjar Pranowo.

On that occasion, Andika also assessed that the work of President Jokowi's government was good. He also appreciated the good score that has occurred over the past 10 years. "The government is so massive in carrying out development in the infrastructure sector, this achievement also deserves high appreciation and must be fully supported by the community," said Andika, who also obeyed the former Head of BIN Hendropriyono.

He believes that apart from infrastructure, President Jokowi's government is also aggressively carrying out human development. This effort is seriously worked on with stunting alleviation programs, large budget portions in the field of education, as well as bureaucratic reform in various government institutions.

"The government currently has a great legacy in working on progressive and equitable infrastructure development. That is also supported by human development which will continue the leadership of our country so that it is hoped that it can be equal to developed countries," added Andika, who completed the study at George Washington University.

At the end of his presentation, Andika Perkasa advised UI students to continue to study diligently and prepare themselves to be involved towards Indonesia Gold in 2045.
