Garut Resort Police is investigating a house rental case used for prostitution in the village of Cikajang District, Garut Regency, West Java, to find out whether there is an element of a criminal act.

"The case is still being investigated, we have examined the owner of the house, as well as the person in the house," said Cikajang Police Chief AKP Adnan as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

He said the houses of residents located in the residents' villages, precisely Kampung Padasono, Padasuka Village, Cikajang District, have often been rented out to the public.

However, reports from the public, he said, were often misused by people who hired him to commit immoral acts or not a muhrim partner.

Based on the community's report, said Adnan, his staff immediately checked the house on Saturday (5/8) night and it turned out that it was true that there were three men and four women who were in different rooms.

"We carried out raids related to reports of alleged prostitution which at the time of the incident we found three men and four women in different rooms," he said.

The police then secured them to the Cikajang Police to undergo further legal examination, especially checking whether or not there was a practice of trafficking in persons.

The results of the interim examination, said Adnan, were obtained by the woman who was in the room through a social media application, after an agreement was made, the non-mahrim couple then went to the rented house.

"So the male confession, the woman can be through the application, then taken to the house, if it is proven that there is a pimp, we will process the law, this is what is being investigated," he said.

From the examination, the owner of the house admitted that he only provided a place. But the police are still developing because it is suspected that the owner of the place deliberately facilitated immoral acts.

"The owner of the house is still under investigation, we are also coordinating with the Social Service for handling women," said Adnan.
