The Indonesian Embassy In Seoul Facilitates The Indonesian Contingent Jambore Participants To Avoid Typhoon Khanun

The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) of Seoul is ready to help the South Korean government to move the Indonesian contingent participating in the 25th World Scout Jambore from the Sae Man Geum Campground to a safer place around Seoul.

"The narrative used by the Korean government is 'early departure' because the Jambore program is still continuing in Seoul and its surroundings for a few days until it closes on August 11," said Ri's Ambassador to South Korea Gandi Sulistiyanto as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.

According to Sulistiyanto, the closure is planned to be held at the Sangnam World Cup stadium with the peak of concert events for several K-Pop groups.

In addition, Sulistiyanto said the Indonesian Embassy would deploy Indonesian students who could speak Korean, to places where participants were transferred.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the Scout Movement Contingent Major General TNI Mar (Ret.) Yuniar Ludfi confirmed that he would continue to deploy Indonesian leadership units so that 1,569 participants could be moved according to schedule tomorrow.

"Currently, the condition of all Indonesian participants is safe and still excited. In fact, they still had time to perform with art performances on the main stage on Monday (7/8) night with 15 other countries who passed the selection to appear on the main stage of Jambore," said Ludfi.

The South Korean government is preparing to transfer 39 thousand participants of the 25th World Scout Jambore from the Sae Man-Geum Campground starting tomorrow (8/8) to avoid the tantrum of the Khanun typhoon which is expected to hit the spot on August 9-10.

Participants from 155 countries who are still participating in activities will be moved to a safer place around the South Korean capital, Seoul by deploying a thousand buses that will start departing at 08.00 am and are expected to be completed within 14 hours.

The movement of the transfer will prioritize students, then adults who participate in the jambore either as a Contingent Management Team or the International Service Team.
