Medan District Court Tried Couriers Of 2 Thousand Green Pills Of Drugs

The Medan District Court (PN) tried the defendant M. Amin, an Acehnese who was suspected of being a courier of 2,000 green pills with AM written to be brought to Medan City.

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) from the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Rahmi Shafrina, presented a witness from the North Sumatra Police's Narcotics Directorate.

"Previously, we received information from a source (one person) that a man was carrying narcotics at a hotel on Jalan Gatot Subroto Medan," said witness Alfonso Napitupulu in front of the Panel of Judges chaired by Arfan Yani as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 1.

From the results of the interrogation, the defendant's investigators obtained the illicit goods from Dek Wani (investigator) in Aceh to deliver them to Medan.

"From the defendant's confession, he brought the goods to get a wage of Rp. 10,000 per item," he said.

In the indictment, Public Prosecutor Rahmi Shafrina said the defendant was contacted by Dek Wani to sell 2,000 pills with an agreement at a price of Rp. 20,000 per item to be sold to Medan.

While in Medan, to be precise the railroad tracks near the Helvetia toll gate, the defendant met Abah who was carrying a laptop bag containing 2,000 green pills with AM weighing 520 grams.

"Then, officers from the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Directorate bought the 2,000 pills by means of aundercover buy. Then the defendant and police officers met at the Jalan Gatot Subroto Medan hotel," said Rahmi.

After meeting, the police officer secured the defendant and the evidence.

For his actions, the defendant, on a subsidiary charge, was threatened with criminal sanctions under Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics or a subsidiary, Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
