Aburizal Bakrie Appreciates Golkar Solid Support Airlangga's Leadership

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Golkar Party Aburizal Bakrie asked all cadres to remain solid and united to strengthen the victory of the Golkar Party in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

Aburizal asked cadres to respect the decision of the 2019 Golkar Party National Conference (Munas) which was later strengthened through the 2021 Golkar National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) that the Golkar Party will be held in 2024.

"I ask all Golkar cadres to obey the decision of the National Conference as the final and highest decision of the party," said Aburizal Bakrie, quoted Friday, July 28.

He appreciated all Golkar DPD administrators level I and II throughout Indonesia who remained solid and consistent in supporting the leadership of Golkar Chairman Airlangga Hartarto, and upholding the results of the 2019 National Conference and 2021 Rapimnas decisions.

As the Chairman of the Board of Trustees who was elected by acclamation at the 2019 National Conference, Aburizal admitted that he always communicated with Airlangga Hartarto as well as monitored the latest developments of the Golkar Party.

He asked all DPD officials at level I and II to continue to maintain solidity and prepare party machines for the 2024 General Election. According to him, only by unity and solidly the Golkar Party will move towards victory.

"I ask all cadres to unite, side by side, and firmly reject counter-productive actions, such as the discourse of the MUnaslub (extraordinary national deliberation)," he said.

Aburizal said, the hustle and bustle of the request for the munaslub conveyed by several cadres was a counter-productive step aimed at weakening the Golkar Party to prepare for the upcoming elections.

"I appeal to all Golkar cadres to unite and close ranks under the leadership of Pak Airlangga Hartarto to make government tasks successful until 2024 and consolidate parties in all lines to win legislative and presidential elections," he said.

He appealed to all cadres to prepare themselves to implement sustainable, structured, and systematic political work in realizing the Golkar Party's winning target in the 2024 General Election.

On the other hand, Aburizal suggested that Airlangga Hartarto, as the mandater of the 2019 Golkar Party National Conference, continue to communicate and lobby with other political party leaders.

This, said Aburizal, was an effort to realize the mandate of the National Conference regarding the nomination of the president and/or vice president while still prioritizing the interests of the party.

He welcomed the visit of the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani to Airlangga's residence on Thursday 27 July.

"I welcome the visit of the PDIP friendship under the leadership of Puan Maharani and hope that the warm welcome of General Chair Airlangga in the form of a bunch of red yellow flowers can continue to a more real level in building a prosperous, just and safe Indonesia," concluded Aburizal Bakrie.

In addition, Aburizal expressed his appreciation for the statement by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who emphasized that he would not interfere with the internal affairs or dynamics of the Golkar Party.

"The president really respects and understands the mechanism of the Golkar Party organization, especially regarding the change of leadership," he said.
