PDIP Regarding Jokowi's Closeness With Prabowo: The President Must Stick With His Minister

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Hasto Kristiyanto assessed that a presidential candidate must have a vision for the future by providing the best idea for solving community problems, not sticking around like a stamp.

"The presidential election provides the best ideas for the nation and state, how to solve people's problems, how to build a future, not to be like stamps," said Hasto at the PDIP DPP office, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.

When asked about President Jokowi's closeness with Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto, Hasto said it was a normal thing.

This is because the closeness is a relationship between the president and the minister. In this case, Prabowo is also the defense minister.

"Yes, the president must stick with his minister. The president must work together with his ministers who describe the policies of a president," he explained.

Not only that, Hasto saw only ministers who committed criminal acts of corruption not being close to their president.

"Unless you commit a criminal act of corruption, unless you procure it in inappropriate ways, you can't stick because it's a personal interest that works," added Hasto.

Even so, Hasto said that the PDIP had no problem with the president being close to the minister.
