RI And China Increase Trade Cooperation To IKN Development

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo and Chinese President/Chinese People's Republic Xi Jinping witnessed the increase in cooperation between the two countries, from trade to the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

A number of collaborations discussed by the two Heads of State in bilateral meetings at the Jinnou Hotel, Chengdu, include strengthening trade, investment, health cooperation, cooperation in IKN development, to cooperation in research and technology.

"In the future, we need to continue to encourage protocol updates and increase the import quota of swallow's nest and complete the import protocol for Indonesian marine products," said President Jokowi based on an official statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 27.

The President appreciated the completion of the import protocol in a number of products between Indonesia and China.

For the IKN development project, the President hopes that China can continue to be a strategic partner.

"Hopefully the cooperation between the IKN Authority and the Shenzen City Government can contribute to the planning and development of IKN," said Jokowi.

Regarding cooperation in the health sector, President Jokowi welcomed the finalization of the action plan for implementing health cooperation between Indonesia and China.

During the meeting, President Jokowi and President Xi Jinping also discussed several regional issues including ASEAN-RRT cooperation to RRT support for ASEAN centrality to create a peaceful and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.

According to Jokowi, Indo-Pacific is a strategic area that must be jointly guarded as a peaceful and stable area.

After holding the meeting, the two leaders also witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents agreed by the two countries, namely the Protocol on Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Konjac Attack Exports from Indonesia to China.

Then, Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for Tabasheer Exports from Indonesia to China, Plans for Cooperation in Health, Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Research and Development Centers, Memorandum of Understanding on Sharing Knowledge and Experience Planning Cooperation related to the Transfer of the New Capital City of Indonesia, and Memorandum of Understanding on Increasing Indonesia-Chinese Cooperation "Two Countries, Twin Parks".

In addition, there are also two cooperation documents that are signed circularly, namely a Memorandum of Understanding on Chinese Language Education and a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic and Technical Cooperation.
