OTT Basarnas Officials, A Total Of 8 People Arrested By KPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said officials from the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) were caught in a sting operation (OTT) with other parties. A total of eight people were escorted to the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta.

"The information we received while eight people were secured, one of which was an official at the Indonesian Basarnas," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, July 25.

Ali did not want to specify the party caught in the silent operation. He only said investigators were still conducting investigations.

The arrest operation was carried out in the vicinity of Cilangkap, East Jakarta and Jatisampurna, Bekasi. Just like the identity, Ali also kept an information meeting for sure the arrests were made.

During the arrest. The KPK team also secured money allegedly related to bribery. However, the amount has not been detailed because the investigation is still being carried out.

The KPK now has 1x24 hours to look for suspects in this case. Likewise with the mode of giving money.

However, it is initially suspected that the money was given related to the procurement of goods and services. "The progress will be delivered tomorrow," concluded Ali.
