East Jakarta Air Quality is Unhealthy

JAKARTA - Monitoring of the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) at Crocodile Hole from 05.00 a.m. - 06.51 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) shows the air quality in East Jakarta is unhealthy with a fine particulate matter (PM) number of 2.5 reaching 112.

In this regard, the DKI Jakarta Province Environment Agency (DLH) through the Jakarta Kini Application (JaKi) appealed to children and adults who are active in East Jakarta and people with respiratory diseases, such as asthma, to limit prolonged outdoor activities.

To reduce the level of air pollution in East Jakarta, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono asked the local mayor to continue the campaign to green Jakarta which had started by planting shade trees and absorbing pollution in the RW 07 area of ​​Kayu Putih, Pulo Gadung, 296 meters long.

Based on air pollution forecasts based on the "real-time" data version of IQ Air on Thursday, an update at 06.00 WIB shows PM2.5 has a concentration of 26 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³).

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has set an air quality guideline value for PM2.5 of 10 micrograms per annual average cubic meter or 25 micrograms per daily average cubic meter.
