North Aceh Police Failed To Smuggle 42 Kilograms Of Marijuana To Bali

The North Aceh Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) thwarted the smuggling of 42 bal or 42 kilograms of marijuana which is planned to be circulated to the island of Bali. North Aceh Police Narcotics Head AKP Novrizaldi said, in addition to securing 42 bales of marijuana, officers also arrested one perpetrator with the initials NS (32), a local district resident. "The perpetrator was arrested in Teupin Reuep Village, Sawang District, North Aceh Regency on July 5, 2023. The officers secured evidence of 42 bales of marijuana which was taped in yellow which was stored in white fertilizer sacks," he said in Lhoksukon, Antara, Wednesday, July 19. From the results of the interrogation, said Novrizaldi, the suspect admitted that marijuana was obtained from suspect S, who is now on the wanted list (DPO). "The marijuana is planned to be smuggled and circulated outside Aceh, namely on the island of Bali at a price of Rp. 9 million per bal," he said. In addition to the case, he said, his party also secured two suspects related to possession of methamphetamine in Jambo Leubok Village, Indra Makmur District, East Aceh on Monday (10/7). "The disclosure began with a public report and after an investigation, the police arrested two suspects SI (40) and MS (38) and secured one large package of methamphetamine and two small packages weighing a total of one kilogram,” he said. "Both of them were arrested in a house that was used as storage and a place for drug trafficking. Based on the information of the methamphetamine suspect, it was obtained from S, who is now a DPO,” he said.

According to him, the three suspects face the death penalty and a maximum of six years in prison, and from the results of the disclosure of the drug case, the police have saved the nation's generation of 430 thousand people.
