Violating Residence Permits, Bali Immigration Deports Pakistani And Australian Foreigners

DENPASAR - The Immigration Office of Denpasar, Bali, deported two foreign nationals (WNA) from Pakistan and an Australian foreigner for violating residence permits and related to criminal acts.

The head of the Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) Denpasar Babay Baenullah explained that the three foreigners were temporarily detained before being deported at the Denpasar Rudenim with different time durations.

The two foreigners from Pakistan are brothers with the initials F, a 22-year-old man, and the 19-year-old sister also has the initials F and is the delegation of detention from the Mataram Rudenim, NTB, on March 9, 2023.

Reported by ANTARA, Babay explained that both of them are foreigners holding Limited Stay Permits (Itas) for Family Unification whose validity period has expired since March 9, 2021.

They are half-blood children with their mother are Indonesian citizens from Sumbawa, NTB.

Babay said their parents could not extend their residence permit because it was hampered by costs because the family was experiencing financial problems.

"Although he argues that this is due to his negligence, immigration can still carry out deportation in line with the principle of ignogentia legislative neminem excusat, namely ignorance of the law does not justify anyone," said Babay.

They were finally deported after the Embassy of the Republic of Pakistan in Jakarta issued travel documents and helped finance their return tickets.

The brothers and sisters were then forcibly repatriated on Tuesday (18/7) via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to Lahore, Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Immigration also deported an Australian citizen with the initials RNC 54 years old from Darwin.

He was deported after leaving the Karangasem Penitentiary, Bali, due to a fraud case.

He was arrested on June 20, 2021 for committing fraud against fellow foreigners in the business of shipping cigarettes from Malang to Paraguay.

He then languished in Karangasem Prison and left on June 22, 2023.

RNC was then handed over to the Singaraja Immigration Office and then handed over to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim) because it could not be immediately deported.

On the other hand, RNC, which has a Limited Stay Permit because his wife is an Indonesian citizen, also submitted a review at the Supreme Court.

"Based on the judge's decision, the RNC inkracht has committed a criminal act so that immigration has the authority to deport it," he said.

RNC was deported at his own expense through Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Monday (17/7) with the final destination of Darwin, Australia.
