9 Train Series Affected By Truck Accident Hit By Brantas Train In Semarang

Nine train series were affected by the Brantas train accident bound for Jakarta-Blitar by a trailer truck at a section crossing on Madukoro Street, Semarang City, Central Java.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daops 4 Semarang Ixfan Hendri Wintoko said the trains were, among others, stuck at Poncol Station and Semarang Tawang.

He said the length of delay varied from 4 minutes to 87 minutes.

According to him, the evaluation is sought to clear the route so that it can be crossed again soon.

"The evacuation is sought so that the upstream and downstream routes can run smoothly," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 18.

Previously, the Brantas Train bound for Jakarta-Blitar crashed into a truck at a crossing on Jalan Madukoro, West Semarang.

The train hit the head of the trailer truck that was passing from north to south. There was an explosion when the train locomotive hit the head of the truck.

The head and tail of the truck were pinned at the mouth of the West Flood Canal bridge bridge in Semarang.
