Police Arrest Sabu Dealer Syndicate In Palangka Raya

PALANGKA RAYA - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Drug Investigation Unit) of the Palangka Raya Police, Central Kalimantan managed to apprehend a syndicate of methamphetamine-type drug dealers in several different places. Deputy Head of Palangka Raya Police AKBP Andiyatna said the methamphetamine dealer syndicates that had been secured had the initials ES, a resident of Jalan Mahir Mahar Km 2.5, RP in Pahandut Seberang Village and two of their colleagues namely MA and PA, while LP was arrested around Jalan Dr Sutomo on July 13 and 14, 2023. "Of the five suspects, there are only four cases. Then the perpetrators who have been named as suspects are strongly suspected to be drug dealers in the jurisdiction of the Palangka Raya Police," he said during a press conference, reported by Antara, Tuesday, July 18. Andiyatna said that from the results of the arrests of the five suspects, the Narcotics Unit managed to secure as many as 21 packages of methamphetamine with a total weight of approximately 730.16 grams. "In detail, five packages weighing 20.27 grams from the suspect ES, three packages weighing 10.25 grams from the suspect RP, 10 packages weighing 50.64 grams from the suspects MA and PA, as well as three packages weighing 649 grams from the suspect LP," he said. The number two person within the Palangka Raya Police said that based on the results of the examination, it was known that the suspects bought and stored the illicit goods for consumption and circulated them back in Palangka Raya City. They even got the illicit goods from someone in Sampit City, East Kotawaringin Regency, who is currently still being investigated by members of the local Police Narcotics Unit. These syndicates, in this case, are subject to Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics Crimes. "Meanwhile, the minimum penalty is five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison," he explained. The police officer with the rank of two jasmine officers also appealed to the entire community, if anyone saw a narcotics crime, to immediately report the activity to the nearest police station.

"From the report, later the Narcotics Satres personnel will move to conduct an investigation, in order to arrest the perpetrators of the drug crime," said Andiyatna.
