TASIKMALAYA - Tasikmalaya City Police investigated the cause of a child who was found dead at the site of the sand excavation of Leuwikidang Village, Ciwanigeis Village, Bungursari District, Tasikmalaya City, West Java.

The Indihiang Police Chief, Kompol Iwan, said that his party immediately conducted an investigation after receiving reports that an 8-year-old girl was found dead on the edge of a sand dug pond, at around 07.00 WIB.

"Currently, we have processed the incident at the scene," said Iwan as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 14.

He conveyed that after receiving the report, his staff immediately went to the scene to examine the truth of the discovery of the girl who died at the site of the sand dug.

However, upon arrival at the location, he said, the victim had been taken by his family to the local health center, even so, the Indihiang Police coordinated with the Tasikmalaya City Police Inafis Unit.

"We are coordinating with the Inafis Unit of the Tasik City Police Satreskrim to process the crime scene," he said.

The police also examined a number of witnesses and the victim's family to find out the cause of the child's death.

The results of the witness examination, said the police chief, that the victim was previously playing with his friends around the sand dug pond, then the victim fell and drowned in a sand dug pond.

The results of the doctor's examination at the puskesmas did not find any injuries or traces of violence on the victim's body.

"From the results of the doctor's examination at the puskesmas, no scars or signs of violence were found on the victim's body," said the police chief.

With this incident, the victim's family considered it a disaster and was willing to make a statement not to do an autopsy on the victim.
