Malang Resort Police (Polres) named a suspect in the obstruction case of investigations in a work accident at one of the sugar factories that resulted in the death of one resident of Malang Regency, East Java. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Malang Police AKP Wahyu Rizki Saputro said in the case of obstruction to the investigation of the work accident there were six people who had been named as suspects. "We have conducted a case with the recommendation of naming six suspects," Wahyu said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 11. For information, the work accident at a sugar factory located on Jalan Raya Kebonagung, Pakisaji District occurred on June 5, 2023 and happened to a worker named M Faruk, a resident of Pakisaji District, Malang Regency, aged 25 years. After the work accident, the victim was then taken to the Wava Husada Hospital in Kepanjen District, to get treatment. However, the victim later died the next day. The incident, not reported to the police and officers, also could not immediately proceed with the crime scene (TKP). The crime scene investigation can only be carried out a few days later after the factory cleared the scene. The police have also coordinated with the East Java Province Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans), related to the implementation of Safety and Work Health (K3). The police have also pocketed the results of the visum et repertum (VER) from the death of the victim, which said the victim suffered a number of injuries and traumas such as on the head, chest, stomach, and a number of open wounds.
