A pickup truck loaded with jengkol rolled over while boarding the ship at Bakauheni Port, South Lampung, Thursday, July 6.

General Manager of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Bakauheni Branch Rudi Sunarko said the incident occurred at 07.00 WIB.

"At around 07.15 WIB. That an incident occurred that happened to a pick-up car loaded with jengkol during the loading process at the executive dock," said when contacted, Thursday, July 6, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the chronology of the incident began when the Mitsubishi L300 pickup car containing jengkol was not strong enough to climb and then rolled over.

"Kronologically conveyed, this black Mitsubishi L300 car with police number BE 8368 ZA is in the process of loading at the Executive Pier 7 through the side ramp to enter KMP Portlink III, which is driven by PN (31). When it turns on the side ramp, the car engine turns off and is not strong enough to climb. Then the vehicle drove back and down and hit the side ramp barrier, then it rolled over," he said.

Not only rolling over, he continued, the car hit another vehicle under him who was waiting to get into the ship.

"The car overturned and hit a dark red Honda Civic sedan with police number B 1325 GE in line, driven by SP (48)," he said.

As a result of the incident, he continued, the ship's loading and unloading traffic flow had stalled, but not long after. There were no fatalities.

"Reportedly, the driver survived because he had time to get out of the vehicle before the car rolled over," he said.
