KPK Receives IDR 40.8 Billion From Hutama Karya In IPDN Corruption Case

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) received tens of billions of rupiah from PT Hutama Karya (HK). Money related to alleged corruption in the construction of the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN) Campus was returned through a holding account.

"So far, PT HK has returned the state financial losses in the case in total of Rp40.8 billion through the KPK holding account," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Monday, July 3.

Prosecutors will later ask the judge to take the money. Thus, state losses due to the construction of the project can be replaced.

The fate of the suspect in this case is that the former commitment-making official (PPK) of the Financial Administration Center and Asset Management of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dudy Jocom, will soon be tried. "It is in the pre-prosecution stage and complete research of case files by the KPK prosecutor team," said Ali.

"Furthermore, during the trial, the KPK through Prosecutor Siswhandono as team leader will ask the panel of judges to seize and deposit the money into the state treasury as part of recovering state losses due to corruption," he continued.

Previously, the KPK again named Dudy Jocom as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the construction of two campus buildings at the Institute of Domestic Administration (IPDN).

He holds the status of a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the IPDN campus in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi and the IPDN campus in Minahasa, North Sulawesi for the 2011 fiscal year. This is Dudy's second time being charged in the same case.

Not only Dudy, but the KPK also charged the Head of the Building Division or Head of Division I of PT Waskita Karya Adi Wibowo and Head of Construction Division VI PT Adhi Karya Dono Purwoko as suspects.

This case began in 2010. Through his acquaintance, Dudy allegedly contacted several contractors and said there would be an IPDN project.

Before the auction was conducted, it was agreed to distribute the project, namely the IPDN project in South Sulawesi was carried out by Waskita Karya while PT Adhi Karya worked on the IPDN project in North Sulawesi. Then Dudy and his friends asked for a 7 percent fee which made the state lose up to IDR 21 billion.
