Prabowo Subianto Becomes A Special Guest Of PMII Harlah

SOLO - Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto became a special guest for the 63rd Birthday (Harlah) of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII) which was held at the Vastenburg Fort Solo, Central Java.

Chairman of PB PMII Muhammad Abdullah Syukri during the oration said Prabowo canceled an event in Germany to attend PMII.

"This means that he cares about future national leaders," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 23.

Apart from Prabowo, several figures who attended the event, including Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, and Central Java PKB DPW Chairman Muhammad Yusuf Chudlori or Gus Yusuf.

In addition to appreciating Prabowo's arrival in the midst of busy working visits to several countries, Abdullah Syukri invited PMII cadres to become the driving force of the nation and be involved in leading the archipelago.

"I invite my friends to come together to raise and win leadership movements much better. Let's innovate with creativity to bring significant change and civilization together for our beloved nation of the Indonesian nation," he said.

He invited cadres to strengthen intellectuality and regeneration.

Meanwhile, Prabowo during a speech invited thousands of PMII cadres who were present to fight for the prosperity of the country.

"We can become a prosperous country. With your support we will succeed. Good luck, remember your history, remember your predecessor contribution to the nation and state. The nation is waiting for your service and future," he said.

Prabowo said the age of 63 years is quite long in service to the country.

"Brother (PMII cadre, ed.) must be proud of the achievements of your predecessor, national figure, late Zamroni, Hasyim Muzadi. Figures who have many services to the state and nation," he said.

He said that at a critical time in the life of the nation, PMII as part of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) extended family appeared and repeatedly saved the lives of the nation and state.

"I am sure that from you will be born the leader of the nation who will fight, serve, and do his best for the survival of the nation," he said.
