Missing A Day, Teenager In East Manggarai Found Dead In Rana Kulan Lake

THE Joint SAR Team found teenager Arsenius Rusman (18) from Golo Wangkung Village, Congkar District which sank in Danau Rana Kulan, Rana Kulan Village, Elar, East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara.

"At 10.30 WITA the victim was found dead," said Head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office, Mexianus Bekabel from Maumere, Sikka Regency, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 19.

Based on information received that the victim drowned at 11.00 WITA on Sunday, the Joint SAR Team conducted a search for the victim.

Previously, the victim and her family and friends arrived at the lake for a tour.

However, while swimming, the victim was tired so that the victim's friend was unable to reach the victim's whereabouts.

On the first day of searching, the Joint SAR Team had not succeeded in finding the victim.

However, on the second day of the search, the Joint SAR Team managed to find victims after using the victim detection equipment underwater with a radius of 50 meters or AquaEye.

"The victim was found dead at a depth of 10 meters," he said.

The Joint SAR team in the search for victims consisted of the West Manggarai SAR Post Rescue Team, East Manggarai Police, East Manggarai Koramil, East Manggarai BPBD, as well as families and communities.

Mexianus said he was sorry for the incident.

He stated Basarnas Maumere's commitment to search and help people in need.
