Pollution's Largest Contributing Vehicle Smoke In Tangerang Regency

TANGERANG - The Department of Environment and Hygiene (DLHK) of Tangerang Regency, Banten noted that vehicle smoke is the largest contributor to pollution in its area.

"Yes, the largest contributor to air pollution is transportation (motorized vehicles) in the Tangerang area," said Head of the Legal Development Section of the Tangerang Regency DLHK, Sandi Nugraha, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

According to him, in addition to motorized vehicles, the pollutor of air pollution in Tangerang Regency is also caused by industrial activities and the burning of illegal waste. Especially when entering the dry season with the impact of their activities carried away by the wind.

"Apart from the vehicle, the air pollution indicator is from industrial activities and the burning of illegal waste by the community," he said.

He also said that the increase in air pollution in Tangerang Regency would increase if the number of motorized and industrial vehicles continued to grow.

However, he continued, he did not know for sure the level of pollution of air pollution. Because until now there has been no data on the results of the air quality test rate in the area.

"So if you want to see the environmental index, there are several components. It must go through a quality test, for the current condition we don't have any data on the test results yet," he said.

Then, for regional locations that are considered high due to the impact of air pollution, they are in a densely populated scope adjacent to industrial areas and toll road access such as in Pasar Kemis, Cikupa sub-districts and so on.

"The worst level of pollution is usually in densely populated areas, close to industrial areas," he said.
