JAKARTA - A number of alumni of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) announced their support for Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential election in 2024.

This declaration of support was made at Ganjar Pranowo's Smart House, which is located on Jalan Hegarmanah, Bandung City. The alumni are members of the ITB alumni, Sobat (AIS) Ganjar Pranowo.

Secretary General (Sekjen) of AIS Ganjar Pranowo, Utju Suiatna stated that ITB alumni who are members of AIS Ganjar Pranowo have long supported Ganjar Pranowo. However, this declaration of support was made after the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) officially promoted Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate.

"Actually, to support Pak Ganjar, this ITB alumni have had the same voice for a long time, but the certainty of the candidacy only occurred at the end of April. So that we can start to support it because there is certainty regarding the presidential candidate," said the 87th ITB graduate in Bandung City, Friday 2 June.

After making a declaration of support, he will launch a smart home program. The space became a place for volunteer movements to socialize the Governor of Central Java and his programs.

Utju said a smart house would be established in a number of areas in West Java, Banten and DKI Jakarta. Another program that will be carried out is community empowerment, including encouraging the presidential election to run smoothly without hoaxes.

"We want to help educate the nation, so we don't let the presidential election contestation be colored by hoax information, slander and misleading. This is what we do so that people can choose the correct information," he said.

AIS chairman Ganjar Pranowo Indracahya Kusumasubrata said the ITB alumni who are members of this volunteer group ranged from the 1968 class to the 2016 class. He encouraged the presidential election to run safely, smoothly and without a hard impact.

"We want this presidential election to run safely, smoothly and there will be no clashes. It's just choosing not war, it's not about different choices, we don't have to be hostile, especially since our majority are Muslims and in Islam it's clear, we are told to work together in goodness and are prohibited from being enemies," he explained.

Indra invites all parties to maintain the presidential election process so that conflicts and victims do not occur. He also wants those who are elected as presidents to be the best.
