JAYAPURA - A member of the Jayapura Police, Papua, arrested eight perpetrators of throwing vehicles on the Sentani highway.

Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen explained that the eight youths were arrested Thursday (25/5) after members conducted an investigation.

Initially, a report was received regarding the throwing of a vehicle passing on the Sentani highway, to be precise around the Kampung Harapan bridge, Sunday (21/5).

As a result, two vehicles were damaged and the owner reported the incident to the East Sentani Police.

After being arrested at their respective homes, the eight youths, namely OJW (24), JRY (23), FRSP (21), ISO (22), RK (19), AHW (18), SKP (17), ONO (16) were taken to the police station for questioning.

"While in the process of being investigated, both the victim and the perpetrator who were accompanied by their respective parents agreed not to be further prosecuted but to compensate for the losses caused by the damage suffered," explained AKBP Fredrickus as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.

From the reports received after an agreement was made by the perpetrators through their families, they had given compensation to the owner of the Avanza car, which had broken the windshield.

Compensation for the Innova car that suffered damage to the left side of the door has not been completed because the owner is not present.
