The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of West Nusa Tenggara pays attention to cases of violence and sexual harassment against female students allegedly carried out by two leaders of Islamic boarding schools in East Lombok Regency.

Head of the NTB Ministry of Religion Regional Office, Zamroni Aziz, admitted that he had dispatched a team through the Ministry of Religion of East Lombok Regency.

From the results of the investigation from two Islamic boarding schools (ponpes) suspected of being places of sexual harassment, one has a permit and the other does not yet have a permit.

"For Islamic boarding schools in Sikur, there is a permit. Meanwhile, those in Kotaraja have not been registered at the Ministry of Religion," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.

Regarding the findings in the field, the Ministry of Religion will take action from the temporary suspension of the boarding school to the revocation of the permit.

"We will coordinate with the Indonesian Ministry of Religion because those who will temporarily revoke or temporarily stop the Indonesian Ministry of Religion. What is clear is that we work in accordance with the existing SOPs and regulations," he emphasized.

Zamroni apologized for the alleged sexual harassment that occurred in the Islamic boarding school in East Lombok. However, he emphasized that the act was carried out by an individual.
