Botani Art Week At Bogor Botanical Gardens (doc KRB)

BOGOR - Bogor Botanical Gardens (KRB) located in Bogor City, West Java founded by the Dutch East Indies government on May 18, 1817, has an area of 87 hectares.

KRB is also located in the area of the Bogor Presidential Palace, this of course attracts the public's interest in visiting KRB.

KRB has 5 (five) pillars to continue to strengthen its function, namely Conservation, Research, Education, Tourism and Environmental Services, making KRB continue to innovate in increasing the five pillars.

In the context of the 206th Anniversary of KRB, the new educational program, namely the Botani Art Week with the theme Bogor Botanical Gardens: 206 Years of Commemorating Life on Earth.

The program is an exhibition that combines art and science. Has a vision of providing education about Botani and Botanical Gardens as well as a mission to share plant beauty and diversity with diverse art media to the general public.

Managing Director of Kebun Raya.id, BRIN's partner in the management of Kebun Raya Marga Angrianto, said that the Botani Art Week Exhibition program this time, Bogor Botanical Gardens collaborated with the Indonesian Society of Botanical Artists (IDSBA).

In this exhibition, we will tell about the role of the Bogor Botanical Garden in life for 206 years, starting from history, plants that have been successfully conserved and developed for the community, and environmental services for life on earth.

He said, the Botani Art Week aims to expand the scope of the education pillar of the Botanical Gardens by cooperating with the IDSBA.

"We hope that this botanical art exhibition can promote biological wealth owned by Indonesia while increasing environmental awareness," he said Sunday, May 21.

"This indicates that the Botanical Gardens are more than just tourist destinations, but rather a forum for sharing knowledge, ideas, discussion of challenges and information from all elements of society related to biodiversity and the environment," he continued.

Furthermore, KRB hopes that this program will be a concern for the community and the general public to visit and actively participate in improving ex-situ plant conservation education programs in Bogor Botanical Gardens in the future.

The Bogor Botani Art Week of the Botani Botanical Gardens will be held on May 21 June 4, 2023 at Griya Anggrek, starting at 08.30 15.30 WIB not only displaying exhibitions, on its anniversary, KRB also held activities such as the Botanical Journal, Botanical Talk, Painting Day and the IDSBA Artist Demonstration.
