PRAYA - The PUPR Office of Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara stated that the plan to widen or increase the road to the location of the cable car construction in Karang Sidemen Village to the Mount Rinjani area is still being studied.

"As a result of the coordination meeting, there are two alternative roads that have been improved, namely the road from Pempek to Persil or the road from Pancor Dao to Persil which is the location for the construction of the cable car," said Head of the PUPR Office of Central Lombok Regency, Lalu Rahadian in Praya as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.

This road widening is carried out to make it easier for the public to get to the cable car that will be built by investors from China, namely PT. Indonesia Lombok Resort.

The widening of the road to the cable car location is divided into two parts, namely the road from Karang Sidemen to the star point of the cable car location, which is planned to be the responsibility of investors.

Meanwhile, part two of the Mataram-East Lombok state road between stars in the Pemeek Village area or Pancor Dao which was widened which was the responsibility of the Regional Government and the NTB Provincial Government.

"That's what is still being studied first," he said

For the point from Karang Sidemen Village to the star point of the cable train, it is planned that the road length will reach 5 kilometers. Later by investors, they will create a new road by passing through forest areas.

"Currently, the permit from the Provincial DLHK is in process and for this road is a portion of investors working and roads are not allowed to be asphalted," he said.

Meanwhile, roads handled by the Regional Government and the NTB Provincial Government starting from the country's roads and for this project there are still two alternatives, whether later this road project will start entering through the Pemeek Village route or enter through the Pancor Dao route.

According to the Office, if these two alternatives both have consequences that must require an in-depth study before making a choice.

"From the Pempek, it is about 10.5 kilometers long and the road from Pemekek Village is technically difficult, because there are locations that on the left and right have cliffs, so this requires serious handling," he said.

Including related to social constraints, especially in Pemekek Village, there are densely populated settlements, a large cost will automatically be needed and vulnerable to social problems.

There is a second alternative, namely the route to the cable car through the Pancor Dao and Tanak Embang areas, Lantan Village. From this route, the only road needed is 7.5 kilometers.

"But the problem is that if you pass this route, a bridge must be made from Lantan Village to Karang Sidemen Village, which of course requires a large budget.

These various options are still being studied because both from the Pempek Village route and the Pancor Dao route, each has weaknesses and advantages.

"So for what is handled by the Regional Government or the NTB Provincial Government, it is from the discussion that we are doing that the province wants to be encouraged so that there is a Presidential Instruction (Inpres) so that later this project can be financed from the center," he said.
