KKB Headquarters In Dekai Raided, 22 People Together With Evidence Secured

JAYAPURA - A joint team of law enforcement of the Cartenz Peace Task Force and Yahukimo Police, again carried out a raid on one of the houses suspected of hiding the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and sympathizers on Jalan Agricultural Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Mountains Papua, Tuesday 16 May. Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri said his party confirmed the raid carried out by the joint team at around 02.54 East Indonesia Time (WIT) located at the Obio Complex, Jalan Agricultural Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains. The raid was led by the Head of Ops Yahukimo Police AKP Alwi Wairooy, which was carried out in two houses suspected of being hiding KKB.

Of the 22 people arrested along with evidence in the form of sharp weapons and traditional weapons and air rifles. "Currently they are still being questioned by investigators at the Yahukimo Police Headquarters in Dekai," he said. According to Mathius, in the security there were four students, two students, and three village heads.

"The 22 people who were arrested were PK (11) student, ES (17) student, MM(17) student EG (19) student, SP (21) student, SP (21) student, NK (21) head of Pugun Village, YM (43) village head of Ngalik), YG(45 TH) village head of Yerik village, OB (23 th), PH (26 th) NS (25), ES (19), MS (35), NS (25), MS (17), SB (24 th), OH (23 th), EH (25 th), NP (28), HL and DK (34 th)," he said. Previously, a joint team from the Yahukimo Police and the Cartenz Peace Task Force 2023 conducted a raid on one of the houses suspected of hiding the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) on Jalan Paradiso behind the Anggruk Complex, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, Thursday (4/5). Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police Kombes Ignatius Benny Prabowo said the raids were carried out at around 03.00 WIT and secured nine people who were at the house.
