The Bintan Police, Riau Islands Police (Kepri), arrested a man with the initials ERA (32) who was the perpetrator of the persecution of a victim with the initials DJU (59) to death, Sunday, May 14.

Alson explained that the incident of the persecution that resulted in the death toll was carried out by the perpetrator on Friday (12/5) night, at a cafe in Tanjung Uban Selatan, Bintan.

The perpetrator beat the victim who was sitting in a cafe chair until he fell to the floor. After that, the suspect trampled on the victim's head which resulted in quite severe injuries.

After molesting the victim, the perpetrator immediately ran away from the scene.

"The perpetrator carried out the persecution triggered by heartache, because he felt he was often underestimated and often insulted by the victim," said Alson.

From the results of the examination, continued Alson, the perpetrators of ERA have been married twice to two different women. From each of these wives, he was blessed with a child.

The perpetrator was arrested by the ranks of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Bintan Police and is currently being detained for further investigation.

"The perpetrator was arrested in the Bukit Senyum area, North Bintan District, while waiting for someone," said Alson.

The perpetrator's actions violated Article 351 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code and/or Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 15 years in prison or the death penalty.
