Gerindra Will Communicate With PKB Regarding The Joint Meeting Of Golkar

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said his party would communicate with the National Awakening Party (PKB) regarding the meeting of the party bearing the Kaaba with the Golkar Party.

"Maybe in a day, two days, we will communicate with PKB and of course we will convey to the general chairman what is produced by PKB (meeting the Golkar Party)," Dasco said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.

Dasco said the communication was also intended to confirm the news that the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, was proposed as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) to accompany the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto.

"I don't know yet and I haven't received any news yet, then whose name was submitted to or offered through whom. Whether the results of the meeting between PKB and Golkar were like that, I haven't received an update yet," he explained.

Dasco said that the PKB meeting with the Golkar Party, which is a political party that members of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) were held with the knowledge of the Gerindra Party as well.

"In addition to providing information to each other before the meeting, we (Gerindra and PKB) also updated each other after holding a meeting," he said.

He said the meeting between PKB and the different Golkar Party was intended to explore the possibility of increasing the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).

"In accordance with the contracts carried out by the Gerindra Party and PKB, we have political cooperation and to expand cooperation, of course, each of us will also explore each political party," he said.

Dasco also emphasized that the decision regarding the future presidential and vice presidential candidates for KKIR was fully submitted to Prabowo Subianto with PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar as agreed by the two political parties.

"So that all the possibilities, the names that exist will be decided by Pak Prabowo and Pak Muhaimin," he said.

Regarding the registration of prospective Gerindra Party legislative candidates, Dasco said that his party plans to visit the KPU on Saturday (13/5).

Previously, Wednesday (10/5), PKB held a meeting with the Golkar Party. During the meeting, the Chairman of the PKB DPP Faisol Riza emphasized that his party carried the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, as a presidential candidate (candidate) for the 2024 General Election.

"PKB carries Prabowo as a presidential candidate. It must be noted," said Faisol.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (3/5), the Golkar Party and PKB agreed to build a core coalition as a follow-up to the discourse on forming a major coalition when Airlangga held a meeting with Muhaimin at the Plataran Senayan restaurant, Jakarta.

"We are both talking about a grand coalition and a grand coalition that requires a core coalition, and that core coalition is what we sit together today, where this core coalition is between Golkar and the National Awakening Party," said Airlangga.
