Nine Train Trips Experiencing Disorders Due To Landslides In Purwakarta

PURWAKARTA - Heavy rains that occurred on Friday afternoon, May 5, caused landslides between Sukatani Station and Ciganea Station in Purwakarta Regency, as a result, nine train trips were disrupted.

"KAI apologizes to all customers, both those whose trips have been delayed, and whose trips have been canceled," said Public Relations Manager Daop 2 Bandung Mahendro Trang Bawono, in Purwakarta, Saturday.

According to Daop 2 Bandung records, nine train trips were disrupted due to the landslide incident. Among them are the Argo Parahyangan train (KA 53), the Bandung-Gambir relation experienced a delay of 264 minutes and the Argo Parahyangan (KA 42) train, Gambir-Bandung relation, which experienced a delay of 295 minutes.

Then the Harina train (KA 123) related the Surabaya Pasar Turi-Bandung relation, which finally turned around via Cirebon-Kroya, the Harina train (KA 125) for the Bandung-Pasar Turi connection through Kroya and the Serayu Malam Train (KA 306) for the Senen-Purwakarta Market connection, rotated through Cikampek-Purwokerto.

Selanjutnya KA Serayu Malam (KA 305) Serayu Malam hubungsi Purwokerto-Pasar Senen melip lewat Cirebon dan KA Cikuray (KA 7048) relatasi Pasar Senen-Garut melunput lewat Purwakarta-Cikampek-Kroya.

Mahendro said, for customers whose trips were affected by landslides, either the operation was canceled or those who canceled their trips because they chose to use other modes of transportation, they would be given a refund of ticket duties of up to 100 percent as a form of compensation.

It was stated that there were three avalanche points that disrupted train travel.

According to him, the disturbances that occurred were landslides covering the railway line at KM 111+400, KM 111+200, and KM111+100, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.

The worst deposit occurred at the KM 111+100 point, where there was 3 meters high of land with a length of 20 meters covering the railway lane so that it could not be passed.

Throughout Friday (5/5) night until early Saturday morning, said Mahendro, Daop 2 Bandung made various efforts to restore the train lane at that location so that it could be passed again.

The handling of avalanches is carried out both in terms of train operational arrangements and train line infrastructure. Daop 2 Bandung also coordinates with related parties to speed up the handling process.*
