No Political Parties Register For Candidates To KPU On The Second Day Of Registration Opened

The General Election Commission (KPU) said that there was no political party (parpol) participating in the 2024 General Election which confirmed that it would register a legislative candidate for the DPR on the second day of registration, Tuesday, May 2.

"On the second day of registration for this prospective legislative candidate, no political parties at the national level have confirmed or conveyed information that today they will submit a list or register as candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives," said KPU member Idham Holik at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 2, as reported by Antara.

He then appealed to the leaders of the political parties participating in the 2024 General Election to send an official notification letter one day before registering the legislative candidate to the KPU.

"We ask the leadership of political parties if they propose a candidate for member of the DPR RI, one day before the submission or registration, they can send an official notification letter to the KPU," he added.

Thus, he continued, the KPU could provide the best service to the political party.

Previously, on the day of registration, Monday, May 1, Idham also said that no political party had submitted a list of candidates for DPR members to the KPU.

The KPU has announced that the registration of prospective DPR members will be carried out simultaneously with the registration of prospective provincial DPRD candidates, district and city DPRDs, as well as the registration of candidates for DPD members for the 2024 General Election on May 1-14, 2023.

The registration can be done by the leadership of a political party or representing on Monday-Saturday at 08.00-16.00 WIB and Sunday, May 14, at 08.00-23.59 WIB. The public can also monitor the registration online through the KPU YouTube channel.
