Paralympic Athlete David Jacobs Killed By A Train On The Gambir - Juanda Train Flyover

Central Jakarta Metro Police conducted an investigation regarding the death of a table tennis disabled athlete (right hand disabled) on the edge of the Juanda Station flyover (KA) which borders Gambir and Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

The victim was identified as David Jacobs (46), a resident of Cilandak, South Jakarta. The victim suffered injuries to the back of the head. From his body, a cellphone and ticket were found on the KAI Access application with the "booking code 9HV69PE" departing from the Argo Lawu train for the GMR-SLO relationship on April 27, 2023 (EX-1/12D) schedule with a GMR at 20.45 and arrived at SLO at 03.49 WIB.

The victim was already boarding. When found, the victim's position was on the route between Gambir Station to Juanda at KM 4-700.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gambir Metro Police, Kompol Andhika Aris Prasetya, confirmed that there were dead victims on the railway flyover at Juanda Station, Central Jakarta.

"We saw (the victim) of a train accident, because he was found on the edge of the crossing. The case was handled by the Resort Police, the high-speed train TKP over the Sawah Besar area was not Gambir, at the border," said Kompol Andhika to VOI, Friday, April 28.

While confirmed separately, the Sawah Besar Police Chief, AKP Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, explained that the scene of the case was on the upper elevated train rail line. The victim is an athlete.

"The information is that the victim is an athlete. Regarding the safety of the railroad tracks, that is the domain of KAI. The handling of the case is already at the Central Jakarta Police," he briefly told VOI.
