407 Vehicle Mothers Leave Jabotabek On Eid Day

JAKARTA - As of Eid on the first and second days, the intensity of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area was still high. Jasa Marga noted that there were at least 407,581 vehicles that crossed the four main Toll Gates (GT), namely Cikupa Toll Gate (direction of Merak), Ciawi GT (direction of Puncak), and Cikampek Utama GT and Kalihurip Utama GT (direction of Trans Java and Bandung).

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 48.2 percent when compared to normal traffic with a total of 275,087 vehicles.

He added that for the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek heading to three directions, the majority were 231,140 vehicles or 56.7 percent headed for the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 87,575 vehicles or 21.5% percent headed for the West (Merak), and 88,866 vehicles or 21.8 percent headed for the South (Puncak).

Lisye also appealed to road users to ensure their readiness before traveling, including by ensuring the adequacy of e-toll and fuel balances, as well as ensuring that the condition of the vehicle and the driver are in prime condition.

"When entering GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Jasa Marga urges road users to obey the signs and directions of officers because the slightest disturbance that occurs will have an impact on the existing traffic flow and result in queues of vehicles," explained Lisye.

He also appealed to road users to avoid travel at the predicted time to be the peak of backflow which is predicted to fall on Monday-Tuesday, April 24-25, 2023, and Sunday-Monday, April 30-1 May 2023 to avoid accumulation of vehicles.

"Avoid traveling at your favorite time, such as morning and evening," added Lisye.

Not only that, he also asked the public to take advantage of a 20 percent toll rate discount for trips from Semarang to Jakarta with a balance after a discount of Rp297,600 which took effect on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 06.00 WIB until Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 06.00 WIB.
