Sadistic Thugs That Make Residents Restless Ahead Of Eid Have Been Arrested, Machetes, Motorcycles And Cellphones Confiscated By Police Officers

LEBAK Three members of the armed motorcycle gang in Cihara, Lebak, Banten were arrested by members of the Lebak Police Satreskrim. Three perpetrators with the initials AI (27), DD (42) and AG (40), who have recently frequently disturbed residents of Lebak, especially before Eid at this time.

The arrests of the three perpetrators resulted from the development of the arrests of two other robbers, namely AI and DD who acted on Jalan Raya Malingping - Bayah, to be precise at the Cihara bridge, Lebak on Tuesday morning, April 14.

"From the hands of the perpetrators, we also managed to secure a number of evidences of a motorbike, cellphone and a machete," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Lebak Police, IPTU Andi Kurniady in a written statement, Wednesday, April 19.

Andi explained that the robbery began when the victim and the witness were riding a motorcycle on Jalan Raya Malingping-Badah. Then, upon arrival at the Cihara incline road, the victim was grabbed by two perpetrators, namely DD and AI.

"The perpetrators threatened by brandishing a machete at the victim.

"The victim was told to hand over the motorbike and cellphone, because the victim was scared, finally the victim's motorbike and cellphone were handed over to the perpetrator," he explained.

After that, continued Andi, the victim reported the incident to the police. After receiving the report, his party immediately carried out an investigation until finally the perpetrators were arrested.

"At first we arrested the perpetrators of DD and AI, then from the results of our development we also managed to catch the perpetrators of AG," he said.

To account for his actions, Andi emphasized that two DD and AI perpetrators were subject to Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 9 years in prison.

"Meanwhile, AG perpetrators are subject to Article 480 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 4 years in prison," he concluded.
