JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo said that the increase in the spread of COVID-19 that has occurred recently does not need to be treated excessively. However, the President again reminded the public the importance of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination to a booster or a second dose booster, as a form of vigilance. "Currently, the spread of COVID-19 is starting to increase a bit, but we don't need to overreact. For that I remind you of the importance of vaccination, both the first and second vaccinations, as well as the first and second boosters," said the President in an appeal video monitored in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, April 19. Jokowi asked the public to continue to complete the vaccinations that have been recommended by the government. "Don't feel safe and then don't complete the vaccinations that have been recommended by the government," said Jokowi. He also appealed to the public to continue to carry out health protocols, especially the use of masks if they are feeling sick. "I ask those who feel the flu or fever to wear masks, as well as those who have comorbidities, use masks, and if you meet the elderly, you should also wear a mask," he said.
