KPU Records List Of Temporary Voters For The 2024 Election Exceeding 205 Million People

The General Elections Commission (KPU) has set a total of voters who are included in the temporary voter list (DPS) for the 2024 General Election, both at home and abroad, reaching 205,853,518 people.

"In the end, the number of our temporary voter lists is 205,853,518," said KPU chairman Hasyim Asy'ari at the 2024 Election National Election DPS Recapitulation Open Pleno Meeting at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

Hasyim also said that 205,853,518 voters consisted of 102,847,040 male voters and 103,006,478 female voters.

The recapitulation report of the DPS comes from 38 provinces, 514 regencies and cities, 7,277 sub-districts, and 83,860 villages and sub-districts/PPLN at home and abroad with a total of 823,287 domestic and foreign polling stations (TPS).

The details of the DPS are contained in KPU Decree Number 316 of 2023 concerning the Recapitulation of National Level DPS in the Implementation of the 2024 General Election.

On the same occasion, Hasyim also conveyed that the number of voters on the voter list is still possible to experience changes.

"It should be noted that the number of 205 million (more) voters is still very likely to change. Its name is also DPS so that corrections can be made," he explained.

Hasyim also conveyed that a copy of the 2024 General Election DPS, as mandated by Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), had been submitted by all KPU ranks at the district and city levels to election participants, in this case, political parties.

Thus, continued Hasyim, political parties participating in the 2024 General Election at the national level also already have a copy of the DPS.

"The DPS response, according to the Election Law, has been conveyed by friends of the regency and city KPU to election participants at their respective district and city levels so that actually at the national level political parties also already have it," said Hasyim.

In addition to being attended by the central and regional KPU ranks, the Open Pleno Meeting of the 2024 Election National Level DPS Recapitulation was also attended by the Chairman of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja, Bawaslu Member Lolly Suhenty, and Member of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi.
