TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono, conveyed the latest news regarding the search for Susi Air pilots who were held hostage by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Nduga, Papua Mountains.
Of the total 36 soldiers who were attacked by the KKB, 4 TNI soldiers are still being searched and their condition is not yet known.
"Of our 36 soldiers who carried out patrols to find the whereabouts of the Susi Air pilot, the KKB tried and there was a shootout, 4 personnel have not been confirmed and we are still looking for it," Yudo said during a virtual press conference, Tuesday, April 18.
Meanwhile, 1 soldier died, 4 were injured, and 27 others were in good health or were not injured.
"Then from the firefight our 1 troop died. Today we are trying to evacuate," said Yudo.
Yudo revealed that 4 soldiers who were injured, including 3 were injured and 1 slipped and had been evacuated to a safe place and reportedly survived.
"There were 3 who were shot and have been successfully evacuated, and Alhamdulillah, all of them are in good health because they looked at me saying 'good afternoon Commander', so they are still conscious. There are also those who greet the command, so it means Alhamdulillah they are still conscious," said Yudo.
